Walls, Dan’s cousin Chairs the John H. Bennett, Jr., Chair of
Southern Letters at the University of South Carolina, where
she teaches courses in early American literature,
Transcendentalism, and science and literature.
She is the author of:

Laura has also authored numerous articles on Thoreau, Emerson,
Alexander von Humboldt, and 19th century literature and
science.
Currently she is working on a new book, "Recalling Cosmos," on
the intersections of literature and science around the concept
of Cosmos in 19th century America.
